The thimble in the plastic mold is easy to rust during use. At this time, if not treated, the service life of the thimble will be quickly consumed and become less durable. What should we do when the thimble gets rusty? How to deal with it correctly?
How to prevent the thimble from rusting easily in the plastic mold?
1. A large part of the reason for the thimble rust in the production of plastic mold is the injection molding ice water link. It is not allowed to turn off the ice water only after the machine stops running. Such improper operation is likely to cause the thimble rust. The correct way is to turn off the ice water first and then turn off the machine, so that rust can be effectively avoided.
2. In addition, the use of nitrided thimble can also reduce the occurrence of thimble rust by adding lubricating oil to the thimble during die casting, and spraying rust proof oil (when the thimble needs to be ejected) after cleaning the mold with cleaning agent before each shutdown.
3. If the thimble is used correctly, it is difficult for the thimble to rust. When the thimble is not in use, we should also take preservation measures and use anti rust oil or engine oil for anti rust treatment.
4. If your thimble is accidentally rusted, if it is a minor life, you can use copper wire or oilstone to remove the rust. However, if the rust is serious, you should replace it with a new thimble in time, so that your mold can be in good working condition.
