Difference between plastic mould and two-color mould
1. Two-color mold: a mold in which two kinds of plastic materials are injected on the same injection machine and molded twice, but the product is only molded once. Generally, this molding process is also called double injection molding, which is usually completed by a set of molds and requires a special two-color injection molding machine. Two-color mold can make two resins and colors with different characteristics into a single two-color product, which can reduce the assembly and post-treatment of molded products. Save the cost of dissolving and printing, increase the aesthetic visual effect of products, and enhance the grade and added value of products. Not only has the function of anti-skid and increasing friction, but also the flexible resin material makes it more ergonomic and feels better. Two-color injection molding products have high quality stability, easy control of product deformation, short molding cycle, high yield, 7% lower loss than encapsulated injection molding, and 20%-30% lower manufacturing cost than encapsulated injection molding.
2. Plastic mold (secondary molding): two kinds of plastic materials are not necessarily injected on the same injection molding machine, and are molded twice; After the product is taken out of one set of molds, it is put into another set of molds for the second injection molding. Therefore, generally, this molding process is usually completed by two sets of molds, and there is no need for a special two-color injection molding machine. Its mold structure is the same as that of a single-color injection mold, and it mainly depends on adjusting the flow rate of injection parameters to control the combination point of materials. The plastic mold mainly covers hard rubber with soft rubber, among which artificial rubber, TPU and TPR are commonly used for soft rubber, and ABS, PC and PP are used for hard rubber.
