How to increase the brightness of ABS plastic products
When producing plastic products, how can we meet customers’ needs for high brightness ABS plastic products?
I. Plastic mold
1. If the mold cavity is poorly processed, such as scars, micropores, wear, roughness and other deficiencies, it is bound to reflect on the plastic parts, making the plastic parts have poor luster. For this, the mold should be carefully processed to make the cavity surface as perfect as possible.
2. If there is oil stain, water stain or too much mold release agent on the cavity surface, the surface of the plastic part will be dark and lusterless. For this, oil and water stains shall be removed in time, and mold release agent shall be used in a limited amount.
3. If the demoulding slope of the plastic part is too small, it is difficult to demould, or the pressure during demoulding is too large, the surface luster of the plastic part is poor. In this regard, the demoulding slope should be increased.
4. If the mold exhaust is poor, and too much gas stays in the mold, it will also lead to poor gloss, so check and correct the mold exhaust system.
II. Injection Molding Process
1. If the injection speed is too low, the surface of the plastic part is not tight, and the gloss is poor. Therefore, the injection speed should be appropriately increased.
2. For thick wall plastic parts, if the cooling is not sufficient, the surface will be hairy and the luster will be dark, so the cooling system should be improved.
3. If the holding pressure is insufficient and the holding time is short, the density of plastic parts is not enough and the luster is poor. Therefore, the holding pressure and holding time should be increased.
4. If the melt temperature is too low, the fluidity is poor and the gloss is easy to be poor. Therefore, the melt temperature should be appropriately increased.
