Because the hot runner mold has high requirements for plastics, the hot runner must be selected according to the specific plastics and their applications (the replacement of colored plastics is difficult and time-consuming). Different nozzles shall be used according to the type of plastic, and the plastic used shall meet the following conditions:
① Plastic has good thermal stability. Plastic has a wide melting temperature range, small viscosity change, and is insensitive to temperature change. It has good fluidity at lower temperatures, and is not easy to decompose at higher temperatures.
② The melt viscosity of plastics is sensitive to pressure. When the injection pressure is not applied, the plastic part will not flow, but when a lower injection pressure is applied, the plastic part will flow.
③ The curing temperature and thermal deformation temperature of plastics are high. The plastic parts can be cured at a relatively high temperature to shorten the molding cycle.
④ The plastic has a small specific heat capacity, which can not only condense rapidly, but also melt rapidly.
⑤ Plastic has good thermal conductivity. It can quickly transfer the heat brought by the resin to the mold to accelerate the curing.
